Could You Assist With Extended Flash Notifications to Continue Until the New Messages Are Read Skype
Hi Robert,
Please check that the notification for Skype for Windows 10 from your computer is turned on by following the steps below:
- From your desktop, select the Start menu.
- Select Settings and thenSystem.
- Select Notifications & actions and scroll down to Get notifications from these senders.
- From there, toggle Skype for Windows 10 notifications On .
Also, make sure that the notification settings on the Skype application for instant messages is turned on.
- In Skype for Windows 10, select
Settings. - For IMs, under Notification Settings, toggle Instant Messages On
Please let me know the result.

Hi Jomel_G,
I have checked this before and I did an double check now before answering you. It is on both in Windows and in Skype.
I have also other strange things going on like my profile picture is not always shown, should be a picture on me there.
I can't write anything or send pictures to at least one of my contact, it just say "The message function is not available" but I can receive messages... This have been working perfect the whole time before, this person is using Skype for Business but I can send messages to other persons that have Skype for business.

Kindly check if your message notifications will appear on the Action Center. The Action Center is located at the extreme right corner of your taskbar that looks like a though bubble. Notifications for the Skype for Windows 10 are normally displayed from there.
And for the issue with sending messages to your Skype For Business contacts, please consider to uninstall, then reinstall Skype from the Windows Store and let me know the result.

Hi,
I just opened Skype and after half a minute it told me that I have 10 new messages... I checked the Action Center but the only thing that I have there is a message from Dropbox that I have added a new picture, nothing from Skype.
I will reinstall Skype during the day and see if something will change.

Hi Jomel_G,
Uninstalled Skype, restarted windows, installed Skype from Windows Store as you wanted. Now I get some of the notifications in action center but still only if I activate Skype. Now also Skype freezes after I get the notification in action center. Then I need to exit Skype and then start it again so now I have even more problems...
Any more ideas? We are using Skype a lot and right now I can't use it.

We are aware of an issue that Skype for Windows 10 users are not receiving notifications for incoming calls and messages. Our developers are working on it, but we do not have time estimate when this issue will be fully resolved.
For now, please utilize classic Skype as it's not known to have the same issue: https://go.skype.com/classic.skype
